2. Relive McArthur’s Raids At The Pioneer Village

3. Celebrate The Royal Newfoundland Regiment In The War of 1812
Early in September travel to Fort Willow in Minesing, Ont., to take part in an expansive historical re-enactment and celebration. The role players will include soldiers, 19th century settlers and First Nations people demonstrating life as it would have been at the fort in 1814. There will also be a special event on Sept. 10 to unveil a memorial to the men of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment who occupied Fort Willow in the winter and spring of 1814.

5. Wrapping Up The War Of 1812 Bicentennial Period
In mid-October 1814 the last major battle fought on Canadian soil during the War of 1812 took place at Cook’s Mills. This October, travel to Welland, Ont., to witness a historic re-enactment of that significant battle as hundreds of participants clash for the benefit of spectators.
