“I have been to the ceremony many times in my life but never did I think I would participate in the trenches. I have always thought I wanted to try doing it but I knew it would be hard. This year I pushed away my immature thoughts of not doing it because it was hard. Doing the trenches was just one night, the soldiers had to do it many more times. It was a way to show that I truly appreciate what the soldiers did for me and my country. It was an interesting experience that I’m finally glad I got to participate in. I have had family that participated in the war and when they heard I was doing the trenches they were extremely proud. The experience is one that I will never forget. I’m truly thankful for the people who participated in the war and participating the trenches was a way for me to show them. Next year I will do the trenches again and I hope others will follow in my footsteps, it is important that everyone remembers.”
