Frank Trew of Burnaby, B.C., ex-Royal Canadian Regiment, has this sergeant major story:

The troop-ship was in mid-Pacific en route home with Canadian soldiers from Korea. Two soldiers playing poker got into a heated argument that ended up in a fist fight.

The sergeant major happened along, stopped the fracas, and shouted: “You’re both under open arrest and don’t leave the ship!”
