Alex Archibald of Jonquiere, Que., sends us a wartime air force story:

A crippled Lancaster bomber was staggering home across the English Channel after a night raid on Berlin. The pilot called up the tower at his base near the coast: “My tail gunner is dead, two others are badly wounded, my starboard engine is on fire, part of the port wing is gone and the undercarriage is jammed. I await instructions.”

After an agonizing silence, the tower came back: “Repeat after me: Our Father who art…”
