Discount Vacations Available To Former CF Members

If you are a current or former member of the Canadian Forces (CF) or family of a current or former member, then you are eligible for discounts on a wide array of goods and services, offered locally, nationally and internationally through the CF Appreciation Program.

In addition to the discounts component of the program, members of the CF Community can access the CF R&R Club to find vacation packages for destinations that you may not have previously considered. The CF R&R Club is a direct link through to the Armed Forces Vacation Club (AFVC), a product of Wyndham Worldwide hotels. The AFVC provides access to more than 3,500 properties in 80 countries around the world.

“One benefit of booking through the CF R&R Club is that you won’t be approached for any high-pressure sales meetings or have to pay any annual time-share fees” said Douglas Langton, associate director general of the Canadian Forces Personnel and Family Support Services (CFPFSS), formerly known as the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency (CFPSA). Through the CF R&R Club, you can secure well appointed units which offer many of the comforts of home for less than the cost of a basic hotel room. Many properties are offered for as little as $53 per night.  “Members can book these properties with as much ease as if they were booking a hotel.”

You can join the program today and receive a membership card that confirms your eligibility for discounts. “As a former member of the CF, you are entitled to participate in the program and we encourage you to take advantage of the benefits and discounts,” explains Colin Bayne, manager of the CF Appreciation Program. “In some cases, you may have to provide us with details of your CF service.”

More information can be obtained at www.cfappreciation.ca. You can log on today to discover how you can save at hundreds of businesses across the country and around the world. You can also participate in contests and learn about additional morale and welfare programs offered by CFPFSS.
