Letters From The Bowes Brothers – Feb. 28, 1917 A field hospital. Somewhere in France

Dear Madame Bowes,

I am writing to let you know that your son, Gunner [Fred] Bowes is lying in our hospital seriously wounded in the legs and head. Everything that can be done for him, I assure you, will be done. He is receiving the very best of treatment and nursing. We are hoping that he will pull through safely but his condition is serious.

Please know he is in our prayers.

Yours sincerely,
