Letters From Bill – Friday, Jan. 21, 1944

Dear Mum, Dad, Jack the Commando and Bette:

Well folks the Canadian mail finally arrived and it was sure good to hear from you all.… Say, if you folks don’t stop writing about people getting married I am going to get really mixed up. As it is I am beginning to wonder if some haven’t been married twice.

Jack must be having quite a time with the bobs but with that big kid next door hauling them they shouldn’t have much trouble. Does he just use them on the school hill? Here is something you never knew, Basil and I used to tie them on behind Rannie’s truck. One night we went right to Stellarton that way, had a bit at the restaurant then came back. I bet you never knew that or you would be grey headed for sure. Don’t give Jack any foolish ideas like that….

I sure hope you get word soon that I got the watch and the ring safely. I wrote and told you some time ago.…

The best in the world to the best family a fellow ever had.

Lots of Love to All,

Pte. Bill
