2nd Annual War Memorial Tour & River Cruise – June 4-21, 2015

After military service in the 1837 Rebellion, our founder, Henry Corby, sold his bakery and bought a St. Lawrence steamer. Soon enough, he was making his own brand of whisky for local consumption and incorporated the distillery operation in 1859. Following Confederation in 1867, he became a member of the provincial parliament for East Hastings and passed on the business to his son, Henry Corby II, in 1881, who was later appointed to the Canadian Senate in 1912.
War changed our business, and the distillery suspended normal operations to dedicate itself to the war effort, producing alcohol for munitions both in the first and second World War. Following the end of World War II, the international distilling industry began a period of consolidation that has continued to the present day. Canadian troops returning from Europe had acquired new tastes for imported spirits and wines.
In 1969, the Company was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and still is under the trading symbols CSW.A and CSW.B.

When should you ask about home healthcare?
For seniors who want to live independently in their own homes – and thousands of Legion members certainly fit that description –having the right support can make all the difference, enabling you to live a full and rewarding life. But when is the right time to reach out for that support?
Many seniors wait until they’re faced with a crisis or a medical emergency – a fall, a sudden illness or a surgery from which recovery would be difficult or impossible on their own. They may not realize that getting the right support in the first place can mitigate the risks of more serious incidents. Others seek help in advance of serious need – they just want help with meals and housekeeping or perhaps a bit of companionship from time to time.
Whether the need is urgent or preventative, making the decision to get help can be a challenging one.
