Letters From Katherine – May 23, 1939

May 23, 1939

Mrs. MacDonald,

81 West Street,

Ottawa

Dear Madam,

I have been requested by the Mayor and City Council to extend to you as a Silver Cross Mother an invitation to occupy a seat in the reserved section that is being provided at the Canadian National Railway Depot grounds at the reception to Their Majesties, The King and Queen, on the occasion of their visit to Brantford on June 7th.

For your information may I say that admittance to this section will be by the enclosed ticket only, which is not transferrable, and that the entrance to this area will be by way of the steps leading to the station platform from the sidewalk on the west side of the Market Street subway, the time not later than 11:30 A.M. and the approach into the subway should be from the north end thereof.

I trust we may be honoured by your attendance on this historic occasion.

Yours truly,

E.J. Campbell,

City Clerk
