Victor G. Smith of Burnaby, B.C., tells us of a couple who were fleeing in night clothes to a bomb shelter while their block was being flattened during the London blitz.
They had scarcely reached the street when the wife turned back toward the house.
“What are you doing?” shouted the husband.
“Have to go back. Forgot my false teeth.”
“For God’s sake, they’re not dropping sandwiches.”
