The Great Canada Quiz – Contest Rules

HOW TO PLAY: Take the challenge and test your knowledge of Canada’s history. Canvet Publications is launching the Great Canada Quiz starting on July 29, 2019, with a chance to win cash prizes totalling $1,867. (After all, Canada’s Confederation was July 1, 1867!) Prizes of $1,000, $500 and $367 will be up for grabs, PLUS subscriptions to Canada’s Ultimate Story. Submit your e-mail below and CONGRATS you are now entered into the contest for your chance to win! Responding to the questions is not a requirement. However, if you’d like to test your knowledge throughout the campaign, you can respond to the question of the day starting from July 29, 2019 until November 26, 2019 at the end of Canada History Week!

Rules & Regulations

No purchase necessary. The Contest begins on July 29, 2019 and ends on November 26, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. EST (the “Submission Deadline”). To enter, provide contact info., as required (email address)

One entry per e-mail address.

Entries will be rejected if the entry form is not fully completed and the entry is not received by the deadline.

Contest is open to legal residents of Canada, except employees (and those with whom such employees are domiciled) or agents of the Sponsor, its affiliates and their respective advertising and promotion agencies. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Entries are limited to individuals only; commercial enterprises and business entities are not eligible to enter the Contest. 

First Prize: $1,000 and one-year subscription to Canada’s Ultimate Story

Second Prize: $500 and one-year subscription to Canada’s Ultimate Story

Third Prize: $367 and one-year subscription to Canada’s Ultimate Story

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable. No substitutions except at the Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or a prize component with one of equal or greater quality or value.

All incidental costs and expenses not specifically included in the prize descriptions shall be the sole responsibility of the prize winner.

Three Winners will be selected at the end of this contest in a random draw. The selection of the Prize Winner will take place at 86 Aird Place, Kanata, ON  K2L 0A1, on December 9 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. Winner will be notified by e-mail by the Contest Sponsor and the Winner is required to correctly answer, without any assistance, a mathematical skill-testing question. Odds of a winner being selected depends on the number of entries received. The Prize is non-transferable and has no cash value for the Winner. The Winner has 13 days to respond. The Winner will forfeit his/her prize if they do not respond to the e-mail notification within that time period.

No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected winner. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws. Void where prohibited by law.

Selected winner will be required to complete and return a standard Declaration, Liability and Publicity Release, releasing the Sponsor, and their respective advertising and promotional agencies, from any and all liability arising directly or indirectly from this contest, participation in contest related activities, the awarding of a prize, and the use or misuse of any prize.

By entering the contest, selected winners agree to comply with these official contest rules and agree to the publication, reproduction, and/or other use of his/her name, address, voice, statements about the contest, and/or personal photograph or other likeness without further compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast, or digital.

The Sponsor and its advertising and promotion agencies are not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, or delayed entries. Without limitation, the Sponsor and its advertising and promotion agencies will not be liable for the failure of any entry to be received.

The Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw or amend this contest in any way, in the event of an error, technical problem, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this contest as contemplated by these Rules. Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend this contest in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind without prior notice or obligation.

By entering this contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing, and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry only for the purpose of administering the contest and in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy found at, unless the entrant otherwise agrees.
