The unfortunate part about all these war stories is that millennials seem to not want to hear about them. I had one kid tell me “It wasn't my war….” As the son of a Vietnam vet and a 20-year Canadian Army officer, it pains me to know that many of these great stories—the fabric of Canada as far as I’m concerned—will be lost within the next generation. I grew up wanting to know more about Canada's participation in both world wars and any others subsequent to that, but now I am finding that the next generation is more interested in knowing when the new iPhone is coming out rather than what made Canada such a rich and free country. Too sad.

A very inspirational story.. When I did a 2-wk tour of the battlefields in 2005, I found there was a heaviness over that area. Others have said the same thing. Great respect for those who had to spend years in POW camps, and for those who were killed.
